Bizzare/stupid MSL pics
#1
Was looking at some pics of a house on MSL and find it unbelievable that this pic of garden gnomes would influence anyone when deciding to view the house
.
With the pics posted of our homes, being so much better than some on MSL, I thought it would be interesting to see what other totally stupid pics people come across in their search for a new home.
Here are the gnome family

I can't find it now but I recently saw a picture of a kitchen table with several bags of shopping on it and none of the rest of the kitchen was visible

I get you now. You mean MLS - multiple listing service! You see lots of stuff, lovely photos of people's toilets with the lid up - like its a feature of the room or something! And some interiors - junk all over the place. You would think they might move the crap out of the picture!
And I have garden gnomes. Well, I actually HAD two but now there's only one left. I did not buy them. They arrived by themselves. I went out of the front of my house one day - and there they were. Sitting on the little grass island in the middle of the bay. I hate gnomes usually but I decided that as they made the effort - I should keep them. However, in getting here, one had the feet broken off and eventually just fell to pieces, but his friend is still here!!!!!!!!

Yes i agree that some of the pictures are awful and seem like they have been taken by a 5 year old. We found that most places actually looked much better than the photos when we got inside although there was one which had junk everywhere. The kitchen side were full of shopping and plates and cups and goodness knows what and there was a TV on the floor in the hall which you had to step over to get in.

I have often wondered at the photos on mls too....what are they thinking???!!!
Frequently a photo is focussed on a close-up of an item of furniture, eg a bed or table, which is not going to be a feature of the room when the current occupants move, and apart from that they show nothing at all of the rest of the room.

My OH and I have had many a laugh at the "cut" of houses on MLS.
Sharon I am just thinking about your other post on how stressed you are getting your home ready for sale, maybe you should take a leaf out of the Canadians book and leave the place wrecked

My B in L had his pictures taken by a professional, the Realtor's husband.
The House sold that day, way over asking price and a whole lot of people were trying to get in to see it.
Staging is the way to sell, professionals come in rearrange Furniture etc so your house shows to its' potential.

My sister is thinking of moving from Vancouver to Nanaimo, so I was looking at houses there on the MLS site. I found this photo. I can't figure out what that brick thing is

and if this is the most attractive room in the house, I can't imagine what th rest is like!

What a superb idea for a thread! I thought I was the only one who was horrified at some of the decor on MLS. Alas, I have been scouring the site trying to find some gems biut haven't come across any yet - its only a matter of time.....
