As someone who is not so far from where Harold Shipman (GP serving time for 15 murders, but suspected of many more +100, in reports) once practised in UK, I am aware of how much this type of thing can affect the community.
A real breach of trust that lasts for a long time.

It is a horrendous time for the families AND the community.

Old Cynic that I am, I ceased to be surprised at such revelations many many years ago. Very little surprises me any more.

Apropos to this story....I thought this opinion piece in the Globe and Mail today makes some very valid points. One Nutter (alledged) does not make all of the Canadian Forces Nutters.
