Belleville in the (BBC) news!
Pretty sure my area never registered with Auntie before...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8505334.stm Obviously, this is a pretty major news event here, and has rather shattered our otherwise sleepy town. Its gratifying though to see how the community has really pulled together to help try and find the unfortunate 2nd victim over the last couple of weeks. That the (high profile) base commander was arrested has left everyone gob smacked... |
Re: Belleville in the (BBC) news!
Oh, the irony... It was his fancy snow tires that led to his arrest!

Funny I always thought that anyone out that way who held a position of 'trust' was dodgy.
Looks like we should ALL watch our backs with Mr K. :p |
Re: Belleville in the (BBC) news!
I find this thread, especially the title, in dubious taste. Tacky even

Re: Belleville in the (BBC) news!
The Police and Canadian Forces are double-checking all unsolved crimes in areas he's been stationed all the way back to when he joined at 18. They already have suspicions of a couple of unsolveds in Dartmouth, NS that he wasn't a suspect in at the time.

Bear in mind that the guy has been arrested and charged. He's not been tried yet. At the moment, only he knows if he is guilty. |

If you think Belleville is gobsmacked, try talking to people in NDHQ in Ottawa. Headless chicken springs to mind.

True, although media reports suggest he gave a 4 hour detailed debreifing to the OPP, and led them to Jessicas body....

Re: Belleville in the (BBC) news!
It is hard to imagine that he suddenly cracked and became a multi murderer/rapist, but at the same time it he doesn't fit the profile of a serial murderer. To get to where he was in life with his education, pilot for our VIP's, command of an air base, having a recent hand in logistic efforts to supply Afghanistan and Haiti, etc.
If he is guilty and if more murders are contected to him from his past, he might be one of the most notorious or diabolitcal criminal minds in Canadian history. |

From what I've just read in the press, he's pretty much 'fessed-up. Taking the cops to where a body is kind of removes any doubt.
However, all the unofficial rumours Ive heard have become official sooner or later so far... |
