Winnipeg is only 65 miles from the US border and its minus 25 C with a wind chill of minus 37C are you sure :lol:

:A Winnipeg is less than 2% of Canadas population

:B Imagine how cold it would be 500 miles further north:eek: (tommorrows forecast, Gillam Island -39C)

I love how people refer to the North of Canada. Did you actually know that geographically the north starts at Baker Lake Nunavut.
So anything south of Baker Lake you are in the south or central Canada not the North;)

Looking at the map at the high level reminds me of a few things

1. How far east St Johns, NL is :eek:
2. How far East to West BC is..... and the fact that it covers 2 time zones I always thought it was all Pacific Time
2. How far south Nova Scotia and Toronto are.....same latitude as Northern Spain

That prettty much sums up Canada though. Second largest country in the world and something like 80% live all huddled upwithin 200k of the USA.

Is there a definition of North? It always amuses me when Canadians think they are living inthe north when most are living on the same latitude as the south of France.

It's not the Canadians that think they live in the North, it's usually the Americans and the tourists.

I think it's bloody weird that for the time being the furthest north that any of us live is Edmonton??????? Thats only up the road, thats not even THAT far north :lol:
