Quite a while ago, I was working with some Chinese government officials in the US and on Sundays they’d take me to the local Chinese restaurant which they had shut down for the afternoon, where the staff served what I assume was dim sum and they had copious bottles of what they termed “Chinese whiskey.” The stuff was absolutely lethal, but it was a lot of fun. After a particularly boozy afternoon one of them gave his hat, I wonder if he got into trouble for that? :confused:

Quite. Though the thrill of drinking kai-kai and not being sure of the methanol content only added to the excitement.

I am in BC, and we have private liquor stores and I am amazed they can even make money considering how little they actually make, very small amount of the price goes to the store, profit is so so small.Government is making a killing though.
