Default Beauty of Alberta

Inspired by the Vancouver photo's posted by Auld Yin in the Canada Forum I thought some of you might be interested in some excellent images of Alberta.

These are NOT my images but those of a Calgary photographer that I have admired for some time.

Enjoy.

Them pictures put a smile back on my face. I only wish I could capture firework shots like that.

Great post Steve.

I love the pictures of Kananaskis especially, I think if I lived here forever I would not get bored of Kananaskis!

They were all great photos. But I have wondered for ages - how do you take photos of fireworks like that?

You need a tripod, a camera capable of manual settings and either a cable release or remote to open the shutter.

Most of the pictures in the Fireworks gallery the shutter was open for 4 seconds set at f/8

Lovely post Steve

Alberta is beautiful and your pictures reflect that. Brought tears to my eyes thinking of the memories of my visit in May '08 and wising I was still there. Well done.

Some great shots there. It's only when we see these (and some of your shots Steve) that we realise what amateurs we are with our own attempts at Alberta photography.
