Beauty of Alberta

Inspired by the Vancouver photo's posted by Auld Yin in the Canada Forum I thought some of you might be interested in some excellent images of Alberta.

These are NOT my images but those of a Calgary photographer that I have admired for some time.

Them pictures put a smile back on my face. I only wish I could capture firework shots like that.

Great post Steve.

I love the pictures of Kananaskis especially, I think if I lived here forever I would not get bored of Kananaskis!

They were all great photos. But I have wondered for ages - how do you take photos of fireworks like that?

You need a tripod, a camera capable of manual settings and either a cable release or remote to open the shutter.

Most of the pictures in the Fireworks gallery the shutter was open for 4 seconds set at f/8 :)

Some great shots there. It's only when we see these (and some of your shots Steve) that we realise what amateurs we are with our own attempts at Alberta photography.:)

This is the beautiful we get when we climb to the top of our hill, some kind soul has put a bench there so you can sit and admire the view in comfort. This was taken on Wednesday, notice that beautiful blue sky :)
