The Beast From the East!
The weather in Britain is evidently a bit brisk at present. It's snowing in London and people are getting quite excited.
Parts of England may get up to 20 cms of snow and it might feel -15 with the windchill factor Given the fact that that isn't normal and they don't have the infrastructure I can see that could bring chaos, especially to commuters.
I am loving the reporting of this, and it makes me realize how very much I miss the Red Top headlines...it's being called "Snowmaggedon"...great stuff!
I do wish the Fredericton Gleaner or the Saint John Telegraph Journal could come up with some more imaginative headlines.

It doesn't help with the dramatic effect when they illustrate it with pics like this

Keep in mind a lot of hysteria is from rags like the Daily Mail. Reading the articles it really does make the UK look like a country of people with little to no resiliance. Cancelling trains 12 hours ahead of time etc is going overboard. For all the train company knows the storm system could change direction, not be as severe as predicted etc.

I'm fairly sure the link I posted was of Euston commuters "battling" through a few snowflakes today. Not a Getty image of London snowmageddon.

The ice cream van owner on the Prom today grizzled a bit that he'd only had 3 customers in the last hour, but that's the only mention of the weather I've heard. It's only the media rabbiting on, and who pays attention to them anyway? I do like the Beast from the East though, and am looking forward to the Pest from the West

Usually when the papers talk of huge amounts of snow the snow is in the grampians or on top of the Pennines so nothing unusual there.
