There's no-one in today - all very quiet.

Are you up early? I keep getting confused as HWP gets up in the wee small hours....

Did I tempt no-one to join me? There was a mug of freshly brewed coffee and homemade apple & cinnamon cake on offer... :(

I posted a couple of weeks ago that I had a job interview. I had a second interview at the same place today. They started off by telling me that the job I'd applied for had been given to someone else. :(



Then they told me that someone who works there is going on maternity leave at Christmas, so they need a trainee by then. Sooooooooooo, I will start as a paralegal in just over a week, and by the end of the year/beginning of next I will be a trainee solicitor. Result!! :beer:

I was gobsmacked to say the least. I went in, expecting the possibility of being a trainee in twelve months, and came out knowing I'll be one in less than six!

Course this makes my decision on emigrating that little bit tenuous. :rolleyes: Can't have everything I guess.

It's taking me forWEVVER to remember that lemonade means something different in Canada! :p ...... Sprite/7Up is just NOT the same!

I asked for lemonade and a portion of chips in a bar not so long ago ... the girl looked somewhat uneasy and said she didn't think they sold lemonade ... then it clicked and I said "sorry I mean Sprite and a portion of fries please". She didn't half look relieved ... it was quite comical! :p

I have the same problem......the kid's keep asking for lemonade.
I keep forgetting that Canadians don't serve ' jacket potatoes ' they are
' baked potatoes ' here!!!! :)
