Hi Willmore,
Landed just B4 midday on Sunday 5th and after a scary 25min taxi ride got to the the Marriot hotel. After a freshen up we went exploring the city ( or rather i was shown around by Mike who'd been b4 ) the city is fantastic, with lots of statues and old buildings surrounded by cobbled streets and cafes. I think Mike got a bit lost as he walked me past the world famous astronomical clock 5 times, in the end he told me what happens as we'd missed it each time. I recommend going to Charles bridge as its going dark because the view of the castle on the other side of the river once its lighted up is awesome. Shop around for food / beer as it varies in price and quality, a good place to eat is the U Prince hotel ( opposite the clock ) they have an heated outdoor eating area which serves good food /beer reasonable although we found a place just round the corner serving beer for under 30 krone ( 75p). If you like sport there's the legends bar, ( stand in front of the clock and look north west, the other side of the two towers ) through the arch way, quite lively with multi screen TV's. I was watching ice hockey ( oilers not sure which date ) while the others were watching Liverpool. If you're in a group or a couple you wont get hassled by touts for strip clubs and the is a visible police presence throughout the day. Over all its very tidy, even the bin men were working through the night. I bought some Russian dolls and a puppet back for the kids, again shop around to get best price ( i got down to 270 krone for a doll), other than that its bohemian crystal/ Garnet and furs expensive but good quality. Got a late flight back Thursday night and i'm thinking of starting a new computer game called Grand theft auto - chech taxi driver, the guy was an absolute maniac - swapping lanes, playing chicken with a tram driving on the wrong side and then charging us 890 krone for the privilege.
To some the place up - well worth a vist

That's a good deal. Im paying $1500.00 to fly from vancouver to frankfurt, prague then return - Ljubljana - frankfurt - vancouver. Not a bad price, its the cost of flying from slovenia back to frankfurt thats expensive.

Let me know your impressions please. Im going for the month of may!

A lot of the people i came across could speak english ( sometimes broken ) particularly in restaurants/ cafes / bars / some shops, although i struggled in the pharmacy when i tried to buy some indigestion tablets. Rubbing my stomach only drew a bemused look from the girl behind the counter until she moved to the side and i could see the boxes of Rennie on the lower shelves

Now here's one for you pub quiz enthusiasts out there.............................

At what temperature does Alcohol freeze and does this vary if you are at altitude ?

Does it also depend on the type of tipple, in other words will a Chardonnay freeze more quickly than a Russian Vodka?

I don't know the temp but it would be to do with the alcohol volume of the drink - so vodka doesn't really go solid in a normal freezer, just syrupy whereas wine would probably freeze.

There is probably an equation for this somewhere....

Whats the point , if you could get it to freeze you'd have a alcho-lolipop but as soon as you touched it with your tongue it would stick to it

Its approx -117 to freeze
