I was gobsmacked to say the least. I went in, expecting the possibility of being a trainee in twelve months, and came out knowing I'll be one in less than six!
Course this makes my decision on emigrating that little bit tenuous.
Can't have everything I guess.

Had a bummer of a day at work, so in desperate need for a tall white wine and lemonade with ice as its so blinking hot in our office.

It's taking me forWEVVER to remember that lemonade means something different in Canada! 
...... Sprite/7Up is just NOT the same!
I asked for lemonade and a portion of chips in a bar not so long ago ... the girl looked somewhat uneasy and said she didn't think they sold lemonade ... then it clicked and I said "sorry I mean Sprite and a portion of fries please". She didn't half look relieved ... it was quite comical!
...... Sprite/7Up is just NOT the same! I asked for lemonade and a portion of chips in a bar not so long ago ... the girl looked somewhat uneasy and said she didn't think they sold lemonade ... then it clicked and I said "sorry I mean Sprite and a portion of fries please". I have the same problem......the kid's keep asking for lemonade.
I keep forgetting that Canadians don't serve ' jacket potatoes ' they are
' baked potatoes ' here!!!!
