No, that is precisely what you are doing. Poster wants to live in Ontario near skiing. Another poster points out that housing isn't cheap. You come in and say that it is cheap - if you live in Moncton where hardly anyone wants to live and then tell everyone (again) about how you've bought two houses and have change. It's dishonest and slightly patronizing.
The post I responded to said
It's a common misconception that you can get a good house here with no mortgage. Houses here are not as cheap as they were, unless you live in the middle of no where, in a fixer upper.
Furthermore that post I responded to came from Atlantic Canada, where I live, and conflicted with mine and many others experiences.
You seemed to have missed all this in your eagerness to have a go at me.
I'm fairly thick skinned. I have taken barbs from Novo, DBD and others but it's never really been a personal vendetta. Why has it become so with you?
Nobody has attacked me or what I've said with such venom and such regularity as you do.
Let's do a deal. I could put you on ignore but then I wouldn't benefit from your wisdom in other matters that I'm not involved in. So why don't you just ignore me instead. I'm clearly not up to your lofty standards.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit Moncton. But someone not in the privileged few that can afford Vancouver but was still investigating Canada as a home, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

At $342k, one of the cheapest places in MR. It might not be that great to live in or in a nice area, but it
What more do people want?

The Moncton CMA has one of the top ten fastest growth rates amongst metropolitan areas in Canada and is also the fastest growing urban region east of Toronto.
Just wondering like.

And really not trying to sound sarcastic either. Just getting pissed off.

ha ha I read that too. East of Toronto ignores a huge swathe of canada doesn't it? I think it's pretty telling that the entry has to avoid comparing Moncton to all the cities west of Toronto, or Toronto.

Out of all the homes for sale on MLS around here atm there are only three that are more than $400k (coincidentally two of which are listed by one of our most "missed" and "respected" forum members).
Right, there are no jobs here, but your $350-$400k gets you one of these:-

That's the crux of the position. Mocton is a bit of of shit-hole but cheap housing, while a nicer area (Vancouver) has more expensive housing. If you could afford it, you'd recommend the nicer area. I thought we covered this five or six pages ago. Ah well, at least it's sorted.

Of course the free market setting of house prices is flawed and the reality is as stated in Wikipedia.

I couldn't give a damn where anyone takes their holiday or lives for that matter, all the power to them. And, Austrian economists notwithstanding, we're just trying to identify the drivers of the housing market in Canada.

Wiki pointed out the rather large growth in population. It was me, not wiki, that thinks this must mean people need more housing. Wouldn't that mean increased demand? Or are we on top of each other or in tents?

If I could afford it I'd live in Nice or somewhere along that coast. Unfortunately I was restricted in the same way about 99% of people are.

I remember something on the CBC a year or so ago looking at population movements within Canada. Essentially the message was that the west was receiving people with better economic prospects, but as prices have risen people with poorer economic prospects in the west have found it more difficult to afford to live in the west and have looked to live in the east (Quebec and maritimes).
Maybe Moncton is receiving people but it doesn't necessarily follow that they will have the money or economic prospects to drive up house prices.
