They are also a fire hazard if not tended properly, messy when the needles start to fall off at the end of the holiday and if you have a cat they want to climb.

I compensate for the lack of pine scent by putting a real wreath in the window. Quick and easy to dispose of without needles shedding all over the floor.

On a similar note, I'm quite impressed with Thymes Frasier Fir candles. They're not a bad plan B, honestly! We keep them one of them on our coffee table at Christmas time. They're just stupidly expensive!

I am so glad that someone said this... I swear, if I find one more tree ornament on the floor I will have a nice new pair of fur gloves!

One of my cats seems to think that our tree is a feline entertainment device!

Our five won't climb the artifical tree but they will snooze under it. The real tree they have climbed in the past.

Post #19 Albertabound made the same comment as myself. Should they be thinking again as well?

Not talking of playing with ornaments but climbing ... little buggers they are.

A: I'm cheap, Ive had my $70 tree for 12 years now.

B: I hate cleaning up the needles from a real tree

C: I hate having to find some form of disposal for a dead tree at the end of the season.

I bought mine for $70 five years ago. It gets cheaper every Christmas. :thumbup:

Thanks guys - going to trek over to Walmart or the huge Canadian tire and get me one :D

I don't want a real one because...

A) never had one, wouldn't know where the hell to start trying to keep it alive til Xmas

B) knowing my idiot cats, they'd eat it and get sick and cost me a fortune in vets bills

and lastly

C) sod clearing up all those needles!

knowing my idiot cats you have better not put tinsely garland on the tree anyway.... it can do horrible things to them, and looks none too festive coming out of either end again :eek:
