Artificial Xmas trees?
 

I'll be buggered if I have found any for sale in Montreal! Seems like it's real or nothing...

Anyone know where I could get a small artificial tree by any chance? My house looks sad without one :P

Walmart, Canadian Tire all those kind of places....but why not get a real one, they are just so lovely!

The Bay has some nice ones. Get an artificial one. The investment will pay off if you're going to stay in Canada for more than a couple of seasons. We got a really nice one from the Bay for about $70 on sale, about five years ago, so made our money on that, and it came with lights that still work. Considering how much real trees cost and what hassle they are to put up, go with fake all the way. I'm sure the baby Jesus won't mind.

Totally agree. Real ones are such a pain to get out of the house after xmas with shedding etc.
Artiificial ones now are such good quality and some look real -ish!

We got an absolutely beautiful, very realistic one from The Bay at a bargain price. It has lights already attached, was in 3 parts that you just slot together and very, very simple to set up... has lasted us 3 years so far and still looks good.

Otherwise, Canadian Tire has loads, as does Home Depot, Walmart and Sears.

Heck, even Superstore has loads of trees as well, so try them too.

Next year, we are going to have a real one in the sitting-room and use the fake one in the family room, cos by then the reno's we are having done on the house will be finished and we will actually have a family room to use as well.

Sitting room: Where you entertain guests. Family room: Where you and the family watch telly an' stuff.;) You don't need both but if the house was built that way that's what you do with 'em.:p

It just seems redundant. If you had a spare room wouldn't make it an office, a gym or put in a pool table?

Isn't a sitting room where you sit?

The names for different rooms have always amused me. We had a front room and a back room. Now I call them living room and dining room but still lapse and call them front room and back room. I cringe when I hear people say "lounge" especially when they pronounce it Lee-ounge. Yuck.

The family room descriptor is up there with 'doing things as a family'. ?? What is wrong with saying 'together'. As a family, what does that mean anyway? Maybe that every one argues, someone sulks, another cries, and at least 2 of you aren't talking

What's wrong with a nice comfy room with fireplace and the telly where I can sit back in my lazy boy and enjoy some decent TV shows.

We've already converted two of the bedrooms to offices don't need another. Not big enough for a gym or a pool table, they could go into the basement if someone really wanted them.:)
