I am going through the (substantial equivalency) process in alberta at the moment, to register with the alberta college of paramedics, prior to getting a job sorted, managed last year to observe (3rd manning) with city of calgary EMS, GPREMS (grand prairie) and Medicare (edmonton) all 3 services were happy to let me go along and work with front line crews for as long as i wanted. this helped a lot.

I remember that - he went on a WP, didn't he? And he wasn't successful with his first application, the ?LMO/HRSDC or whatever it's called. The ambulance company who wanted to hire him had to alter their job description for the second attempt and make it far more emergency planning/disaster relief orientated if I remember rightly.

They rented a house in Bragg Creek (which I remember seeing for sale on MLS shortly after) and he drove to downtown Calgary for work.

Wonder if they posted here ever? Would be nice to hear an update
