Well in America they blather on about how the pilgrims had a big dinner with the Indians, which personally I think is total fantasy, it's basically just what Harvest Festival is called here.

Well, Grandma, it turned out to be today. The fatted turkey was sacrificed to the gods of gluttony. One is replete.
As ever, when we sit down to a "formal" dinner (i.e. there's a tablecloth involved) the conversation was intensely political. We were but four, the two of us and our two sons, one of whom is an intellectual of distinctly left persuasion, started by accusing his mother of being a floppy neo-liberal.
Perhaps.
Then the other one weighed in on the failures of Monsanto and their hideous perversion of capitalism (and he's the reactionary in the family but lives in SK and maybe cares about such things).
I think we did a decent job as parents.
