Default Any advice on Trucks

Are there any truck enthusiasts or boffs out there that can offer some knowledge about what kind of truck to go for?

The requirements are second-hand, no older than 10 years old, has to be reliable and has to be able to fit possible heavy welding equipment in the back, petrol or diesel, and can handle cold winters!

I know hubby has a bee in his bonnet about wanting a 4x4 but I've just read something about a Mazda truck 2 wheel drive actually being better/more reliable than the 4x4? We do live in MB so winters are somewhat bad but saying that (touch wood) my 2 wheel drive car has been sufficient so far.

I haven't got a clue about trucks! and I want to surprise my hubby for Christmas. I've just been on Canadian driver but there are so many reviews of them, I don't know where to start. Fords, dodge's, chevy's, Mazda's -the list goes on.

Please help!!

If he's going to put a welder on it you may want a 3/4 ton... a Ford F250 or even better a Dodge Ram 2500.

F-350 would be even better IMO.

Thanks guy's for the replies!

After talking it over with him he said that the Mazda is too small? and I think he wants to go for a Dodge, Ford or Chevy and a 3/4 one.

Miss Clinique - I'll let you know what colour he ends up getting!
