New Years Day at Martinique - yes I know we are crazy to even go there but you have to excuse us as it is our first year here

#17

The strong winds are making quite an interesting terrain out there now. All that snow that was trapping my car this morning has blown away, it's just sat there looking almost untouched by the storm around it, barely any snow on it or around that area. Nearby my kid's swing set is disappearing into quite a large mound of snow. And I should probably call my neighbours and tell them there's a rather wide 5' deep drift over the end of their driveway.
I'm going to have another beer first though, then go jump into it

finally starting to quieten down here in Bedford, still snowing but wind is not as strong as it was. Took this earlier of the snow plough trying to clear the road. First time I've seen a plough with chains on it's tyres

I was just wondering if you were without power - even checked on Nova Scotia Power to see if you were suffering without electric!

At least it's not as bad here as Newfoundland back in 2004.
My friend lived in St John at the time and sent me loads of pics. I did an online search and found some other photos on Flickr

well we've had about 20 cms here in Bedford this afternoon and the wind has picked up now and it's blowing. Thankfully it's the soft stuff so not so hard to shovel.
Don't worry - we are sending it your way so you don't feel left out.
