Andy Murray - Twat or not?
Do you think that he had previously spent too much time watching Braveheart but is a reformed character following a change of heart who now loves the English? Or perhaps he has realised that by alienating the English supporters, he was taking money out of his own pocket?
Is he a twat or not? |
Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
Who is he then some scottish tennis player or something?

Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
I think he has the personality of a broom handle, and try as hard as I like to support him, I can't warm to the fella at all. He is a good player and still has some more potential - but perhaps only for another short window of a year or two.
I think he will fade into a bad-tempered oblivion within 4 years. |
Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
Not a twat. Just a moderately decent tennis player who isn't particularly media savvy.

If you read his previous interviews I think that they your question answers itself. If you are going to make stupid comments about a nation of individuals and they are the hand that feeds, you might find yourself with a little less food. I think the more appropiate question would be "What has he done to win their hearts and minds?" |

Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
No Andy Murray is a twat. You are right. I was born in England but my Dad is Scottish and even my Dad thinks he's a twat. I would respect him more if he didn't do a U turn on his opinions. I hate 2 faced people:sneaky:!

Andy Murray as that was what the question was!! |
Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
So, Tim is not a twat because of his nationality.
In some circles that is considered racist. |
Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
What has racism got to do with it?????

Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
Nothing but your statements.

In anticipation of your reply, I concede to your phillisophy.

Is he a twat or not? His 'anyone but England' remark was made in jest to a Sports Commentator who initially wound him up about Scotland not qualifying for World Cup.Do some research, the full context is well documented and corroborated by St Tim of England himself but you are right- of course he's a twat-sure only a twat would take himself out his comfort zone to train 24/7 when his contempories in Scotland were sticking needles in their arms and knocking back the buckfast.Only a twat would identify his chance of success and work to capitalize on it-stupid twat-he's only gone and become a millionaire at 23.Only a twat would survive his parents divorce not to mention 17 of his younger schoolmates being gunned down by a madman, what a twat for being in school at the time.... Course he's a twat for being guarded with the media-they quoted him out of context and he got serious hatemail for it but what a twat? Hmmmmmm who's the twat?? |
Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
He's certainly a good player but possibly not quite as good as he thinks he is. He also comes across as petty grumpy at the best of times - okay when he was a teenager but you'd expect him to have matured bit by now especialy when you compare his demenour to that of Federer or Nadal. Just a bit dull and gruff rather than a twat though.

Best player to come out of the British isles in many a year and he's Scottish through and through. Only British to please his sponsors. When he f**ks up, he'll become Scottish again to the English media but until then, he's all they've got, so he's British:blink:
There's no doubt he is a good player. However, one statistic I do remember from a few years ago is that no player had won their first grand slam tournament when over the age of 25. How old is he now 24? |

I can imagine. You are rightly proud of your friend overcoming their scotch upbringing and and attaining success in the civilized world. Far to few scotch people make it that far.

Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
I met an Italian chap last wek and he said that he thought all Scotish people were tight and shopped at Value Village. Bit harsh tagging the whole of the Scotish race with that brush but he seemed to think that it was appropiate.
I just think that you should stick to your roots rather than change to suit what others want you to be so that you obtain better PR - if he hates English people (& I am not saying he does) fair play if he sticks to his guns and doesn't give two fecks what anyone thinks. I also find some (not all) Scotish people get very defensive about all things Scotish (I had a discussion with a strap who argued Braveheart was an accurate historical account; I pointed out that it was subject to some artist license so he accuss me of being anti-Scotish! Get a life!). Stop taking life so serious; you don't have to like something just because it hails from North of the Border! If it is so great there, why do so many up sticks and go down South or even emigrate to places like Canada. Take a chill pill. |

The British public will think the sun shines out of his arse even if he's the most miserable SOB in the game. Being a nice, sweet guy will not put food on his table. There are many major tournaments around the world other than Wimbledon that he has won/can win/do well in. The British public is no longer the hand that feeds him.

All of the above is quite obvious but then so was your post! |
Re: Andy Murray - Twat or not?
[QUOTE=Yelkcub;8679426] Also to get to the later stages you have to enter it.
And there was me thinking you just show up with your bat and ball, and hope for the best:eek: |
