After trip 2 to UK in 6 months......
#1
I'm still happy to be living in Canada!
We didn't visit the most beautiful part of England by a long shot, those of you that have been to Hatfield lately will know what I mean
Welwyn garden City is much nicer.
This isn't going to be a list of everything that's wrong with England, in fact we weren't as dissapointed with the UK as much as we were in January, it still rained practically everyday (much like it's doing here today). People were still rude and unhelpful, it was still crowded and the newspapers were still full of DOOm and GlooM - apart from where gold medals were talked about!
But we appreciated the achitecture and History a little more - in fact we noticed it a little more. We didn't see as much litter as we did in January and we enjoyed lots of grub and a few pints. I even dealt with the A1 on a few occasions - YAY I can still drive
We saw much missed friends and family, so amongst all the heartbreaking stuff we had to deal with on this trip there were moments of great happiness. I am so happy I don't have to deal with family squabbles anymore.
There is no way we could afford the standard of living we have now if we moved back to the UK, friends who were wealthy with little money worries are now worrying about money.
I saw no sign of the much talked about Fashion sense of the English and some foody items just didn't taste the same......Eeeek I must be Canadianised!
We're hoping the next trip back to the UK will be for a happy reason and we're hoping that doesn't happen too soon. I can see the attraction of the UK but there is no place for me there anymore. I also hope Hatfield town council get on with demolishing and rebuilding the town centre. people deserve to be able to live and shop in much nicer, cleaner, sweeter smelling places than that (mind you we got used to the smell by the end of the second week).
It was lovely to see green, it was lovely to see trees, it was lovely being able to go to the pub. We went to the cricket pavillion the Friday after the funeral for some drinks, it was lovely having a couple of pints and a chat, something that could become a habit quite quickly.

Sorry about the reasons behind your visit PP, but I hope everything went off smoothly for you - and yes, welcome home ...
We found this too - what is this phenomenon? I'll be tucking into that disgusting pot of cheesy goo next
