If they are on Blue Cross chiropractors and massage therapists are covered, so many go to them routinely during the year in order to use up the budget. Best of luck with your pains, I fell over (oddly enough in somebody's 60's sitting room, where they hadn't advertised that is was 'sunken') and took a hell of a fall, my husband who was in the basement at the time thought there had been an earthquake...I can laugh now, but for a couple of days I was in a very wimpy way! It can be really scary.

Yes. Go straight to A&E and have this checked out. I didn't do that after a tumble whilst on my hols. Thought I had a sprained ankle for weeks on end. Turned out I was walking on a fracture.
Not saying you have a fracture but you need the one stop shop lot for something like that.

I love my GP and she's good at injuries but too timid with a scalpel. I learned to go to emergency when I needed some wounds addressed; she's a wonderful doctor but not much of a cutter.

If the pain is getting worse this is probably the quickest way to get some relief as well.

under any circumstances
you will be financially poorer and it may make health matters worse

I've had to wait 2-3 days for ultrasound results but when I broke my leg the x-ray clinic sent me back right away with the pictures in my hand so I was lucky there and when I got to see the surgeon he just took a look and booked the OR. My doctor is in the walk-in 5th Ave Medical Clinic in North Central Regina and she sees just about everything there.
I'm sceptical of the way the Sask government is approaching health care now. The services that are being moved or combined amount to less care instead of more and the projected increase in population is bound to mean problems if we can't meet demands now. I think they ran up a bunch of debt on infrastructure even in the midst of a resource boom and want to scrimp on public services for a while to save cash. A tory government with a huge mandate and a sense of entitlement, not unheard of these days.

It's unfair that chiropractors get so much flack for their holistic approach. Western medicine, despite having all the money science behind it, still hasn't cured aids or cancer. It's certainly food for thought.

Unbelieveable. Go to someone whose long term goal is that you don't have to see them.

Am I too late?
As a physio, I'm pleased with the general response!
So rest and ice for max 48 hours, then gentle range of movement exercises without exacerbating the pain by more than a couple of points out of 10. Take Tylenol for pain.
If this is insufficient and/or you are still having severe pain, or difficulty weight bearing or walking, definitely go to ER rather than GP, for reasons previously stated. If, after a few days you are not seeing considerable improvement, do see a physio rather than a chiropractor. Also can start taking anti-inflammatory meds if you can tolerate them.
You can "jar" all sorts of areas in a fall like that, much better to be blind drunk if you're going to fall over! Remember that next time

Now that's a proper troll. Very good.
