Anyway whats so goddam funny about me not having an accent

I don't really have the Leicester thing going on anymore, yet don't talk with a plum. I just talk and thats it.

It was such a great series but when we watched it first time round we did need to replay some bits because we were either laughing too much or didn't have a clue what was said. I am trying to get the DVD's for hubby's birthday.

Whilst in the mall with teen we bumped into a load of her school mates. One came running over to me Muuuum! Hug hug, so we started talking, another mate said 'Wow you've got an accent say pineapple' this was followed by other randon say such and such.

She then proceeded to say she wished she had an accent. I had to explain to her that if she were to go to a foreign country people would ask where she was from and probably assume she was from the Stated becuase of HER accent. She was a happy bunny realising that she also had an accent She now wants to come over to our house to hang out with me so she can hear me talk, bless.

According to friends and family I sound more Irish now that I live in Canada????? Whereas I totally lost my Irishness and sounded quite west country at times apparently, even though I lived in East Anglia. Bottom line is I'm confused and out of all accents I find the broad broad ones, wherever they come from are kinda hard on the ears, but the Belfast one takes the biscuit!

It's funny though to hear people around me pick up on my Englishisms and use the same phrasing and pronounciations!
