Accents
As accents go, I realize the southern British one is the nicest and most correct, people over here comment on it all the time. But what do you think is the worst? To me, the Canadian accent sounds a lot like the American one, but a bit more simple. Personally I think the Australian accent is the worst. It's sort of like the accent equivalent of having bad breath. No matter what they say you just want to get away from them. But accents are curious things. Do think yours has changed since emigrating? Do your family and friends back home now take the piss when you speak to them?

Re: Accents
I personally don't really like the Geordie accent. Actually, it's not exactly the accent that annoys me, more the fact the F-word is interjected between most words grunted out (and sometimes halfway through a spoken word).
On the point of accents, not sure if you realise this Oink, but most of us on here who read your posts read them in Billy Casper's Yorkshire accent. I hope this helps.

Re: Accents
People back in the UK say I sound different - but thats more because of the Canadian phrases used in coversation as opposed to picking up the accent (which I don't think I ever will).
I don't really have an accent anyway, and in my opinion the worst one for me is that strong Irish Ian Paisley type accent. |

My familiy and friends always take the piss when I speak to them - but that's got nothing to do with it how I speak. |
