I fancy them against Portugal. I have had Germany and the US to go through from that group. I don't see Portugal as anything special, especially with Ronaldo not 100% fit.

You've been listening to those useless CBC pundits too much.

Moutinho, Coentrao, Almeida are all very good players.

The US will lose their remaining two games. Ghana were unlucky.

I remember at US 94 people saying that the US would be able to win the World Cup within twenty years. There has been progress but they were stronger 4 years ago. Same with Australia who are now going backwards again.

Come on Chile!!!!

I stream the BBC / ITV pundits.. can't stand CBC.

Coentrao is out for the rest of the tournament so he's not going to be doing much for them.

I don't understand why everyone thinks that the US result was such a good one, may be down to Ghana knocking them out the last 2 world cups. But I still see them being able to get a result against Portugal, which would leave them with everything to play for against a German side who will probably have 1st place wrapped up already.

A warning to England that nothing can be taken for granted, although that should probably have been blindingly obvious given some of the other results.

Oh, we can take it for granted the Uruguay will thrash England tomorrow (as will Costa Rica in their turn).

I wish I had a strong enough argument to contradict this statement, but I don't :(

Spain losing went someway to making up for the US winning.

Ah, but so far this has been the contrarians world cup where fifa actually use the available technology, brazil struggle for fluidity, spain lose horribly, australia scare the crap out of the netherlands and england actually look half decent going forward, so the normal rules may have been suspended:blink:

I still fancy England to get out.

Germany the most convincing side at this early stage.

Possibly. The Portuguese clearly have temperament issues. Shame about Coentrao.

I'm starting to think all the crazy people who said Chile could win the World Cup are perhaps not so crazy.

Of course, a part of me hopes that you're both right, but there are so many teams that are way, way better than England that it doesn't really matter in the long run.

As John Maynard Keynes once said "In the long run we are all dead".

Quite, but in this case "the long run" implies the next 2 weeks.

I, at least, hope to survive that long.

I had to go out this afternoon and I was back after the start of Spain v Chile. I put CBC on as that was the quickest way of getting in front the game.

Such weird language used to describe half time and how Holland beat Australia earlier.
