I just got a hire car quote from Avis at Heathrow airport for 12 days hire.
Ford Focus or equiv - GBP 300
BMW 330 or equiv - GBP 2,500.

Surely a rich person would simply have one's chauffeur pick one up. Or drop off the Merc in short term parking for one to pick up, if driving is something one enjoys?
