I have no connections with this site but find it useful for all the entertainment that goes on in the Maltese islands, manicmalta.com

The old buses were great. When we came on hols we would rather wait gor an old bus than take an earlier new one. we loved the empty lemonade bottles to collect used tickets in and seing the road thro the floor. Reminded me of the flintstones peddling their cars!!!!
Don't live in Malta but love it. How easy is it to move and live there?

Hi Maisymay, i agree the old busses were a great attraction but Europe was never going to allow then to go on much longer, shame but on the bright side you can now travel around the island all day for a couple of Euro's on a newish air conditioned bus, easy to move and live here if you are European, just book a one way flight and take it easy.].

Done a lot of business and visited frequently over the years. Must admit have played around with the idea of moving there. Just the right mix of Med/Italy/UK to feel at home, and within easy reach of Italy.
ciao for now,

I first holidayed in Malta in 1976: the thing I remember about the buses (many dated from the 1950s then, or even earlier) was that there was always a little statue of the Virgin Mary, just behind the driver's seat, so that the faithful could pay their respects - for the rest of us, it took our minds off the feeling that there was no suspension in the buses

Must return there one day...

Another great site to find all the information you need for a holiday in malta is "my destination malta" very useful to study what Malta/Gozo has to offer.
