I'm currently renting in Malta and I was wondering what the process of buying an apartment in Malta was like. How long can it take and is there anything to keep an eye out for, compared to buying in the UK.

Though renting an apartment was super quick and painless. I've heard the legal system can be slow here. So I'm imagining buying is a fairly drawn out process?

You can get a list of lawyers from the British embassy, which would be a good starting point as you will need independent legal advice.

I think the big question is how much you can get off the advertised price in the current market which is artificially inflated by the requirement for non-residents to pay a minimum price.
