What should visitors bring from UK in their suitcase for us 'locals'?

A filbert is a cultivated nut very similar to hazelnut but a bit bigger. Personally I preferred to go foraging in the hedgerows for fresh hazel. Much nicer than the dry shrivelled up nuts you can buy.

Of cause a good bottle of wine per person.
Coffee pads for my senseo machine (they are available at IKEA here, but i prefer other brands).
Oh, thats all already.

I wonder if you guys in Penang have a branch of Ben's Independent Groceries aka B.I.G?
They have just about everything, food wise. Including OXO cubes.

I don't think there's any in Penang, although Cold Storage here is pretty good for imported foodstuff
I only know of two B.I.G.'s in KL, one at Publika, the other at Batai Village. Are there any more?

Wow, epicurious if I could refund you the cost of purchase and postage for the OXO cubes you would make Mrs NH a very VERY happy lady.

Neon, if you haven't already discovered it, I would have a look in the Straits Mini Market, Tg Bungah Hillside, and if you don't see OXO cubes, I would ask Andrew (owner). He gets a lot of Western stuff and can quite often source things.
