What should visitors bring from UK in their suitcase for us 'locals'?

We have some visitors coming from England.
What should I ask them to bring for me?

Top of my list is Lapsang Souchong loose tea.
Mrs JC3 is craving ‘real’ Cadbury’s Fruit & Nut.
Cumberland sauce was on my Xmas list...

But what else?

Wensleydale Cheese from Hawes not the fake stuff.
My silly one always is a couple of tubes of Germolene.
Some decent quality nuts bolts and screws, sizes assorted.
Malt Loaf
Dreaming of a nice bottle of Newcastle Brown as well...........

Tea! Coals to Newcastle springs to mind except they shut all the mines. There are lots of shops selling Chinese tea, they must have lapsang souchong. TWG in Gurney Paragon, ground floor claims to have loose Imperial Lapsang Souchong on their website. Good quality cheese would be top of my list & .....er..... dental floss that does not break off & get stuck in your teeth. Agree on the pork pies as well & some decent gin.

Hi,

TWG does stock Lapsang Souchong, as does Purple Cane...but it is about 7 times the price of Twinings. Probably because theirs is the real stuff, and Twinings' Lapsang is blended. The specialist Chinese Tea shops I've been to don't seem to stock it, but then it is dubbed “Foreigner’s tea” in China.

If you go to Watsons, (there's one in Tesco area at Tg Tokong) try out their
own brand Flat Thread dental floss picks for tightly spaced teeth. Works for my tightly spaced teeth

Blimey!
Does anybody want a Rolls-Royce Dawn, if there's any space left in the suitcase?

Abdulawwal, I can buy Weetabix in my local Aeon Big, only it has a different name. It's the real deal, I promise.

Hi Hovite,

The marmite flavoured cashews don't make my list. But everything else does. So I have to ask, what is/are filberts?
Uh oh. Have I been missing out on something good for years...?

I holiday a lot on the Costa del Sol and I miss very fresh British double cream over my dessert. This impacts on my favourite Indian dish too - the Korma. They tend to use mass produced pasturised catering specific cream and the flavour comes nowhere near that of fresh. Yuk. If your friends are lucky enough to have their own boat then they could fridge the cream and bring it over.
