I think the analyst's report mentioned "intense price competition" from other supermarkets.

I tried the home delivery service for the first time last week and I must say it was very good. They came at the correct time. All the shopping was correct and in good nick. The delivery man was very polite and pleasant. And I got free delivery. A no brainer really

And just got another delivery. I get the feeling that Tesco Delivery is trying very hard currently. Maybe because Cold Storage is having a go at home delivery now.
Anyway booked a slot 2pm to 4pm and they came at 2.10pm. Very pleasant guys again. Had one substitution though it was a sensible one. Free delivery again. Special reduction of RM 20 off the bill as I had spent more than RM 100. And a free gift of a bumper pack of noodles LOL. Cannot lose lah.

The website can be a bit challenging sometimes. They have a search box but it doesn't always work out. Couscous brings up nothing in the Search box. I finally found it under Pasta
labelled cous cous. Of course.

Not theat it makes a difference to the spelling (couscous vd cous cous), but couscous is actually a dish prepared with semolina (grains of durum wheat) as the base ingredient

No Tesco UK, profit is down massively this year. It seems that for the last six months they have not made any profit. As a regular customer I am not surprised. Every week the queue gets shorter at the checkout.
But that doesn't mean Malaysia is immune. When I was working in the US my company got into financial trouble. Despite the US group sending lots of money home they tried to get out of trouble by selling the American assets.

What's going on at Tesco in Tg Tokong? Anyone know? Any rumours?
I've been getting regular weekly Tesco deliveries for quite a while now. I noticed recently that the time slots are somewhat limited all of a sudden so I booked a different day.... a Saturday delivery 2pm to 4pm. It arrived late and a very flustered guy said he didn't know exactly where my condo was. That's strange as I live within spitting distance of Tesco.
The following Saturday (yesterday) I booked the same slot 2pm to 4pm. Got a call at 8.50am saying could they deliver in the morning. So that is what happened.
I asked the guy, another different guy, what's going on with the deliveries. He said that Tg Tokong no longer involved in the deliveries, so deliveries are now coming from the mainland. Prai I think.
I asked about Tesco Tg Tokong and he said They have problem

I see nothing different at the store, maybe a little bit busier, a lot less wine, but otherwise same, same.

Is it just me? Why does my Tesco app say home delivery is unavailable for the whole of March?!

I put this on my Facebook page but maybe good to copy and paste in here so people are warned.
------------
Have you ever wondered about those signs before the Tesco down escalator that says...Hold on to your trolley?
I have because the trolleys' wheels latch somehow onto the escalator and don't move.
Well, now I know different. Some don't. Worn wheels?
I casually pushed my heavily laden trolley onto escalator and....whoosh....off it hurtled down the escalator with yours truly in hot pursuit 😂 and I'm thinking, my God, it's going to hit that Indian guy in front. I caught it but couldn't control it and thankfully an MM2Her behind me, seeing my predicament, ran down and between us we stopped it. We both had the giggles by the time we got to the bottom and, of course, the Indian guy was totally oblivious to what could've happened.
So...mental note...hold trolley tightly AND keep an eye on what's happening behind you on the escalator

I have to tell you about my last trip to Tesco - I doubt I'll ever go again.
I was looking for some tomato juice in an aisle where everything was being taken off the shelves and put back again, I guess to clean the shelves. There were about 6 guys doing this but one was sitting with is back to me on an upturned plastic crate.
I asked the guy nearest to me where the tomato juice was and, not being able to understand English, he directed me to the one sitting down.
The guy was sandpapering his feet with a large emery board. I asked him my question and without stopping or looking up he pointed back to where the first guy was.
I left the store and went to Cold Storage instead.
