Penang direct flights to other countries
There are several direct flights to other countries, mainly in Asia, but apparently there used to be quite a few long-haul flights into Penang airport. Malaysia Airlines used to fly to the UK from Penang. Alas, no more.
Some talk of expanding flights again. Penang state is trying to get a deal going with a Korean company, Asiana, to do direct flights to south Korea. Also talk of AirAsia doing direct flights to Myanmar.

Oh for a direct flight to the UK again (or anywhere in Europe for that matter).

Just a thought but has anyone been to Bayan Lepas recently....maybe MH370 is parked there as it was last seen on radar as a lost aircraft overhead RMAF Butterworth.
Sadly the F/A 18D Hornet all-weather/night fighters were all on stand-down or something... so never scrambled to see who the unrecognized aicraft overhead might be. Lucky it wasn't an enemy aiming for the Petronis towers.

Asiana! They seemed to have problems with landing the planes!
