There is a Midvalley KTM station linked by a covered walkway to the mall. Alternatively, there is a shuttle bus to MV from Bangsar station. My husband gets a taxi from Bangsar to Midvalley and back every day. I drive, but since there was very little forethought put into the ring road system there, it can be a nightmare. I never go after midday - weekday or weekend.

Perfect, thank you! Was unaware of the bus, I've only ever sailed past on the LRT thinking 'I must go there sometime'... now I will ;-)

Yes, the was a huge lack of thought in that whole area, it's a mess.

All,

Many thanks for all of your replies. We've decided to leave our TV here and to buy a fancy new one in KL. I assume my UK PS3 should still work fine?

We're going to be in KL for four years and our company will let us ship up to 550cubic feet in a container. We've done a little shopping in London focusing as you recommended on linen, towels and small electrical items (food processor, coffee machine etc). We're also going to pick up a spare duvet - any recommendations of tog level? Was thinking 10.5 as we don't mind sleeping under a/c.

I thought shopping, esp for clothes and electronics, was supposed to be outstanding in KL?

PS3 will be fine. Quilt tog, 4.5 if any. I don't use one but prefer fans and open windows. If you must use AC, far better IMHO to have it set at 27 or thereabouts so you don't get the problems with the icebox to greenhouse changes.

KL IT and electrical shopping OK, clothes OK I suppose but I was never blown away. And the higher quality 'branded' items still cost, and I mean decent (Timberland, Dockers Clarks etc.) , as opposed to what I would call 'designer' brands (YSL and Armani etc.).
