Is this a good package??
Hello everyone,
Several jobs have come up at an organisation in Kuala Lumpur and I have been informed that the packages include:
- RM240-480k per annum salary depending on role (tax free so I am told)
- Fixed housing allowance in addition to the above basic
- Medical coverage
Having spent 30 minutes looking up expat salaries in Malaysia on Google, this looks like an outstanding deal (it seems that anything >RM20k per month is excellent). Can anyone confirm this/comment on this, please?
Thanks!

Hi. I'm not much help as I am a retired layabout, but just curious why should it be Tax-free when all other workers are paying Tax? They would organize an employment visa?
Hope some of the workers down in KL will help you out on here.

I know, I was surprised when they said the basic salary is tax free. It is a government funded organisation I would be working for but whether that makes any difference, I don't know.
This opportunity has literally only come up in the last week or two and I haven't done any investigating as of yet except for a quick mooch around on Google just to see whether it's remotely viable from a financial perspective.
