Default Crown Ace UK - Help

Hi, it appears Crown Ace UK has ceased trading; their website is down and phone lines are dead or on answerphone. They have 7 boxes of ours in transit collected from UK in June. When we phoned them 3 weeks ago they stated they had just arrived in Port Klang. We have no consignment No. and are trying to find out the shippers/forwarders they use/used to use in Malaysia. If anyone knows, please can you let me know. Many thanks.

This doesn’t sound good.
A WebCheck on The Companies House website (www.companieshouse.gov.uk) for Crown Ace UK Limited shows the status of the company as dissolved 27/12/2011, so something odd is going on.
If you have any paperwork from Crown Ace UK, perhaps the insurer of your goods can throw some light on where they are now.

If you get really stuck getting any information, I suggest you try a Google Search for:

“Crown Ace UK” and Linkedin

The search results include the name of someone whose Linkedin profile shows that he was Operations Manager at Crown Ace UK in 2005-2006, and that he now works in a different industry in Kuala Lumpur. It looks like he is a Malaysian who went to university in the UK, and then worked for Crown Ace UK for 18 months.
I expect if you gave him a call he might be able to make some suggestions or give you a contact name or two. As he left the company in 2006 it’s a bit of a long shot.

Could be a different company now using that registered name? I did a google and there seems to be a live Facebook page for the company, with info posted this year.

They're also mentioned on shipping-international.com with a page advertising them. Maybe contact Shipping International?

Hi,

I did a bit more digging.

It looks like Crown Ace Limited has re-emerged as Crown Ace Shipping Ltd (incorporated January 2013).

There’s a company website: www.shippingtomalaysia.co.uk

It may be worth noting that the Registered Office at 37 Leinster Square W2 4NQ, in London’s Bayswater district, looks to be a hostel. (Hostel Mara).

Just checked again this morning and the web site is back up and running so hopefully it might be just a glitch though a worry the phones were down. My wife will try to contact them when should be open at 10am. I will update later. BTW I had already done the Company and Director checks and had their address, but cannot call round to pay them a visit as I am still in Japan :-) I hope all is OK as we have used them several times in the past and have had no complaints with their service.

Hi guys, I seem to be encountering the same problem that Hovite did with Crown Ace UK. I shipped 2 boxes from UK to KL back in September when their website was still working. Fast forward three months and their website seems to be down, nobody answers when I call their phone numbers and I get no reply when I email them.

The last I heard from them was in November when they emailed to say there was a delay in my shipment and it has not arrived in port klang. Anyone have any idea how to find out whether my shipment has arrived in port klang? Please do lemme know.

Hai baked beans,

I'm in similar predictment as you, I have a couple of boxes shipped through Crown Ace. As far as their customer service is concern, it is as good as a pair of wet socks.

Their website is down and their contact numbers are too from the looks of it, after some ringing around, it is the same company that manages the Mara Hostel in London. The list of directors are easliy found on the UK company house when you google it. The company is insolvent and as to it how it managed to run Mara Hostel, your guess it as good as mine. Their business Address is

W2 4NQ
Tel 0207 7928845

Hope that helps. I won't ever touch this company, not even with a barge pole next time.

Leicester Square is in London's West End.

Am asking a friend of a friend if they might know anyone in Mara Hostel that might know about this.

I just can't believe they would just cut off all communications with their current customers and leave them hanging without any news whatsoever about their shipments in transit.
