Default Car Rental

Have to rent a car in KL next Tuesday for a week, any recommendations for a company to use. Do I need to take out extra insurance, wavers ect.
I have never had to rent a car before, so this is a new experience, what should I look for and look out for.
Thanks People
Frank

Hi Frank, surprised that no-one has answered this question. I've never hired from KL so cannot help.

I've hired cars in JB and Penang.
I'm happy with the not so well known local companies in Penang I've used La Belle and Kasina there and got good service out of them.
I see Kasina have cars in KL and KL airport.

I always have all the insurances but you can get the additional cover cheaper from the Money Saving expert site.

If you haven't driven in Malaysia before you might want the peace of mind of Hertz or Avis.
Certainly driving around Malacca takes getting used to but shouldn't be too difficult if you drive in Mexico.
