Hello from Japan
Hello! *waves*
Husband, son & I can to Japan (for a second time) 6 months ago for an 18 month contract (Husband's contract) but it looks like there is a possibility of the contract finishing sometime early in '07.
We don't want to go back to the UK so are now looking at other options such as the other parts Far East (HK, Singapore etc) USA, OZ etc. Husband is a Mechanical/manufacturing Engineer, I'm not allowed to work here in Japan (shame, shame!) so am technically a SAHM and we have a gorgeous 4 year old son (He goes to the local kindergarten and is already speaking Japanese!)
We'd love to know a bit more about HK & Singapore etc - we're doing ok in Japan and love the expat way of life! What are the Engineering oportunities like for Ex pats?
Anyway, I'm a Southerner (Sussex) and hubby is a Northerner (North Yorks) and we're in our mid 30's. So that's us in a nutshell! Perhaps you lovely people could point me in the right direction of any posts that have covered all the above issues before?

I don't know much about engineering opportunities as most of my friends are in banking, IT, sciences, etc. This doesn't seem a very lively section of Britishexpats.com, so your best bet may be to find some Singapore-specific forums to ask on.
