Where to visit next?

Ciao ragazzi!
Looking to take a 3 or 4 day break to Italy next October, we've already visited Rome, Venice, Florence, the Lakes and the Amalfi Coast, so looking for somewhere different to those, somewhere with plenty to see and do, we like the city culture hustle and bustle and somewhere with, history, good food and wine, was thinking maybe Milan or Sicily? What do you peeps recommend? Milan, Sicily or some other better recommendation to fit the bill?

Watch Sicily Unpacked to get a flavour of Palermo. Lots of questions answered on the Tripadvisor Palermo forum.

If you fly into Palermo you can see the city, see the Valley of the temples in Agrigento, and Monreale. If you fly to Catania, you can do Etna, Taormina and Siracusa.

Nothing against Sicily, I've been there myself - great place and great people - but you could also try some of the smaller towns in central Italy - Assisi, Perugia, Urbino etc. Philat98 could help you there, I'm sure, maybe after Sicily?

There is plenty to see in Central Italy but it is not really adapted to the 3 day holiday. You need a car to get around as public transport is poor. With few touristic locations its more for people who enjoy a leisurely country holiday away from the crowds.

Apropos the above, I have just been listening to Dead Ringers' skit on the drone chaos earlier at Gatwick and heard this:
"Passengers at Gatwick have described being forced to sleep on the floor and being given no assistance by staff in scenes described by one passenger as 'still better than Ryanair'."
