Ok,
I have had some conflicting info on what the deal is if you are in Italy for more than 90 days.
Coming from the UK is it a requirement to get a VISA or does this apply only to countries outwith EUROPE, SCHENGEN GROUP OF COUNTRIES ETC
I am sure someone can answer this easily.
I was told I should go to Malta for 1 day and the return.
Anyone able to furnish me with facts-?

If staying for more than 90 days you need to register at the town hall (Italians also have to be registered). You will need to provide proof that you have some where to live, sufficient funds and health care. Here's what the police say:http://poliziadistato.it/articolo/10930
