Re: Torino Expats
Welcome to Italy - loads of helpful people oop North who will probably be along to introduce themselves very soon.
You are in the right part of Italy for your Rugby as you are in the heartlands up there. Albeit you will have to come down here to Bella Roma to watch the Internationals, which are being played at Olimpico whilst the rugby Stadium gets upgraded. It was very easy to get tickets for the 6 Nations games even if one was in a blizzard.
Football (soccer) is also good up your way too Juve and Torino for 2, but if you are interested in playing best to ask a local.
In terms of integrating into Italy, joining a sports club was the most sensible thing I did when I arrived as my social life and Italian friends all came from joining the club and competing for them and organising an event.
best of luck and once again welcome
Mike

Re: Torino Expats
Buckingham Label.
I've had a place in Torino since 2007 but am rarely there due to work. There is a bar (fake Irish bar / sports bar) on Corso Vittorio Emmanuel, called the 6 Nations. Head towards the river from Porto Nuova train station, it's on the left hand side of the road opposite the church. The staff speak fairly good English, they show most premier league football games and when the rugby internationals are on the place is packed to the rafters. For someone new in town it's as good as place as any to meet some locals or expats.
I'm in Torino for a few days the last week in September, if you want we can meet there for a beer or two.
