Dear All,
Silly questions time....I haven't ever been billed or paid the TARI/TASI for local garbage collection in Siracusa.....I pay the IMU but nothing else.....Should I be paying the TARI/TASI (and which is it)? How can I pay from now on and not back to when I bought the house in 2016? Do I have to pay since it is my first home in Italy, and we only spend 3 months a year here at the moment?

You are responsible for the TARI from when you bought the house. If you havent registered at the comune take a copy of your act of sale to the TARI office and they will calculate it all for you.

After a bit of work, i was able to get registered online with commune of siracusa. I have now made the 2018 TARI payment, and am waiting for the calculation for 2017 and 2016....so i can be up to date...

Well a quick search would indicate this is your Comune, but they may say you need to calculate your TASI, but should send you a bill for your TARI if you have registered with them for it? You can calculate your TASI and IMU here...
