YES i am blunt and the fact is anyone that says do not go is a frikkin idiot! OF COURSE GO... stay in the uk saving until you are pensioner then come over for a few weeks and die!

I do not see any personal attacks, i generalised about idiotic advice, which was within the thread, then i had a reply AGAIN from the same poster who always says do you always talk this way.. yawn
You should never let anyone squash your dreams of travel especially those that are already abroad!
Anyway telling anyone that they should not go with 8k in their pocket is offering idiotic advice and should shut the hell up

I have been looking at studios mostly (livingroom and kitchen in one and 2 other rooms being toilet and bedroom) this is about 250 to 300 a month so take that away from the 8k leaving 5k to live on now bills say 200 taking my monthly down to 300 euros for food for a month and the odd night out. Considering my outgoings in this country leave me about 75 quid left as my money and I still manage to have fun.

Add to that whatever you can make from occasional bar work, giving English lessons, etc. Definitely go for it. The worst that can happen is that you run out of money and have to go back, which wouldn't be all that traumatic, and even then you'll have made a lot of friends and had a great time. Good luck.
