Piacenza - help!
Hi Everyone!
In 2 weeks I'll be moving close to the city of Piacenza.
I know basic Italian but would like to improve. Could anyone recommend any schools in this area? I am also hoping to teach English at some stage as I have just gained my CELTA certificate, so any info regarding english schools would be much appreciated too. Thank you!

yes it's true that plenty of things close down in August.
You could always prepare your CV ready to send off to all the language schools in the area at the end of August.
As for Italian, check out your local comune (town hall) when you get here as quite a lot of them have started offering free Italian classes for foreigners. You could ask at the library too.
Good luck with your move.

Hi David, Thanks for that. I've just had a look at their website. Can't seem to find an email address to send my CV, do you have one from when you worked there?

I live in piacenza also, am originally from preston, Lancashire. the piacentini are extremely provincially minded and insular...it's a bit like Burnley.

there ya go - Burnley twinned with Piacenza, obviously youll need a list of things they share, ideally gothic cathedral, record breaking waterfall, arts festival -- or in Burnleys case a minimart, a starbucks and a revolutionary pay and display system, but Id get on to it - theres an opportunity for some cultural caring and sharing....
