Default Packing Material

Does anybody know the name of a chain of stores that stock bubble wrap (the big rolls) and good cardboard boxes. I have tried every store locally and can't find it.

ps what is bubble wrap called in Italian??

Thanks

Try " polietilene bolle aria, or film a bolle d'aria, or just plain old Bubble Wrap said of course with an Italian accent.

It's just "plastica a bolle" or "imballaggio a bolle" but I'm not sure where'd you buy a big roll of it.

Whenever I have needed some I've just told OH to bring me some home from work.

I think IKEA might do it if there is one near you. I'm sure I saw it there last week with packing boxes and stuff.

Was just telling dh about bubble wrapo and he just, sensibly, added that you can buy big rolls of this stuff in DIY shops. If there is a Castorama (Futurama in our house!!) then they do it but dh says he's seen it in our local 'Fai Da Te' as peeps use it to insulate their greenhouses!!

I have managed to find somebody else returning to the UK, so will have to provide all my own packing. Certainly has kept the cost down all the quotes from shipping companies were really high. Thanks for all your replies.

Before the removal men came I started doing a bit of my own packing. I used quite a bit of news paper, FIL picked up loads of leaflets for supermarkets which had been left in the building. These were good for putting between plates etc

They call it pluriball here in this part of Turin. I know you can buy rolls of the stuff at Castorama but I don't know if there are any you're way.

you can also get it at Guercio (sp??) as my dh said that when our friend went home they went on a search for it for him too as it was a part shipment the removals firm didn't supply boxes and packing material etc. Not sure if this is a local DIY shop though or if there are others. They found it in Castarama, Guercio and IKEA but Castarama had the best price.
