Long term accommodation in Palermo
Hi there, I have just joined the forum and apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but just searched and could not see anything about this specifically.
I am looking to move to Palermo in the beginning of December 2011 from Honduras. Due to the distance between the countries I will not be able to visit and "scout" for an apartment in the city before arriving.
I have had a look online but (apart from one) can only see "holiday" apartments. The other complication is that I am coming with 2 dogs so I need to move into somewhere straight away. I am looking to find an apartment in the La Kalsa or the Albergheria areas.
My plan was to rent the place I have seen which is out of my preferred area and then look around locally when I arrive. Is this the best thing to do, or can people recommend websites that might have long term lets? I am looking to spend 600-700 pounds max and am looking for a 1 bed apartment with some kind of balcony if possible.
I am looking to move to Sicily for at least 1-2 years. I'm really lucky work wise as I am an social media writer so do not have to worry about the job stuff, its all online!
Can anyone help? I would be ridiculously grateful!

Ciao! I don't know if you've already found something or not. But a search for immobiliare Palermo should bring up estate agents who are far more likely to list and handle long term rentals. I think rents in Palermo vary quite a bit, but should be well within your budget. Here's a link to a few. I don't know anything about this agent, this is only a sample!!! Best to use a FIAIP listed estate agent. Hope that helps, ~Hil

soloaffitti.it works well in Palermo, or if you want to go private and you speak Italian/Sicilian you can try subito.it. Dogs may be a problem especially in a condominium - its important that you make it clear before you rent that you have dogs.
