Hi there,
I'm currently feeling very misplaced...well I have for over a year now which was the whole reason I moved to Italy! I definately want to stay in Italy but I've lived in Florence and now Rome (with an organic farm experience in the middle which is best left unmentioned!), but things are beginning to go pear-shaped.
I need a regular job - but more importantly I was wondering if anyone knows of a good compromise somewhere to live which is a cross between the countryside and the young livelyhood I have here? Maybe a large rural town? I think i'd like to stay in the mid - South area of Italy, maybe the coast - Sorrento?
I know it's meant to be tough starting a new life in another country but I'm a 25 yr farmgirl from Herefordshire who likes the young living of the City. However, the first is way too isolating (I've tried it England and Italy) and the second is where the jobs are but it's just too much (noise), and I honestly think I'm going to die in August in Rome!
I also have intermittent work, my future job has just fallen through cos my friend wants it back, my current teaching job is going to end cos the kids go away for the summer, and I will have a total of 10 hours a week left in a lovely guesthouse, who I'm very loyal too but don't pay very much!
Oh and I have to be out of my appartment by July.
Sorry for my ranting! Thanks, Amy

Have a couple of these! Ranting, among other things, is what we are here for. What about the coast?? Some big towns, Genoa for example or La Spezia, with good access to the Cinqueterre might give you what you want. Others, I'm sure, will come up with some ideas too.
