Getting to Acqui Terme from the NE
My brother will be coming over to Vicenza sometime in the near future. He also wants to go visit friends in 15011 Acqui Terme, as far as I can tell, he can take a train from Vicenza but will need to make several changes and it might take 5-6hrs.
Which is the quickest way there? What's the name of the stop for Acqui Terme?
Would it be better just to hire a car?
Cheers!

Duffer there seems to be about 4 or 5 trains daily that you only change twice on. Once in Milano centrale and then again in Genova. I think there is only one station in Acqui and its simply called Acqui Terme.
Mind you - you're probably right - it might be quicker to drive.

Google maps reckons its just over 3 hours by car... He can avoid Milan altogether that way. You could take him and detour to Genova for the Aquarium. Brandon would love it.

It's my brother who wants to go, I wasn't planning on taking him, however I've never been to the aquarium. Brando will probably love it.
3 hours by cars sounds about right because it almost 2 hrs to Milano from here.
So if by train, he can go from Vicenza and change at Milan, then change again at Genova and arrive at Acqui.
We'll work something out.
BTW Easyjet are flying from Verona to Gatwick this June!

Oops! I'll get it right one day... I was thinking Marlon as I wrote it too, and I still got it wrong... And yes, he really would love the aquarium...I took both my kids to them in the UK when they were tiny toddlers and they just sit on the floor in front of the bigger tanks staring at the fish and sharks etc. They both loved Genova too as bigger kids!! You, of course, would appreciate the pervy dolphin..
