As usual, it's handed to him on a silver plate.

Isn't it a silver platter?
Anyway, I'm taking the whip round to Lorna's.

I stand corrected. Better corrected than whipped - in my case.

I said Prosecco for books - not a whipping ...... and if you leave it any longer, little Brando will have taught himself how to read and write in six languages and you'll have forgotten how to read English fairy tales. Send me a message about meeting up for book/Prosecco swap. I'm at home more than you so you decide when it's best for you.

The Roberts Radio looks super. I've got a simpler version. The most similar to mine today (Logik is discontinued now) is the Ocean Digital Multimedia Radio at £59.99, discounted on amazon. Mine doesn't have useful remote control. But hey if you got good cash for your birthday I'd splash out on the best.

Thanks H+G. Amazon says "Sorry, we can't deliver this item to Italy" .. but I'm sure one can find a way. Looks nice.

Yes Hads but they ain't got that particular model. They do gave some similar ones though.

How's the whip-round going? I thought I'd trust you with that rather than other members.

Hadn't thought of that; and there was me naively putting my money in the hands of 'experts'. We never learn.

Try Amazon again on a different day. I've had the "can't deliver to Italy" message quite a few times and then it's disappeared.

It's a 'fulfilled by Amazon' sale and apparently:

"CE products with data storage capacity such as Blank Media, MP3 Players, Mobile phones, GPS and Radios with storage capacity, Tablets, External Hard Drives, USB keys and Memory cards may not be eligible for international delivery."

I got that when I tried to order a record player with usb storage etc. so I sent them an email. 3 days later I was able to order it with no fuss at all.
