Default Bergamo Bound

Hi everyone,

I'm moving to Bergamo this year and would appreciate any advice on my rather complicated situation...
I'm moving there for work having been posted there and although I'm very happy with the location it's all a bit complicated at the moment.
My wife is pregnant at the moment and we're expecting the baby early September, she'll probably stay in the uk until the baby's born and then once everything seems ok she'll come out to live in Bergamo as well. I also have 2 dogs which are very much part of the family and I want them to come with me as well. Initially I was thinking of renting but doubt I'd find a landlord willing to allow 2 dogs and a new baby. The dogs also mean I'd need a garden. On the buying side of things, I can't find much info on what sort of properties are available in the area and what the average sort of price is for property out there. Any info or advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you...

Hi there
Have a look at a large italian estate agent like this one:

Tecnocasa.it

On the front page just put Lombardia as the region and then choose Bergamo - its currently showing about 2000 properties for sale in and around Bergamo.

Good luck !

Buying a property in Italy is a bit different experience than in England.
For example, everything seems on a longer timescale: Places can be advertised when people intend to actually move in 9 months' time or next year...

So I would get cracking asap and get yourself known to some Estate Agents and let them know your requirements.

We have just experienced the Tecnocasa estate agency, real pain in the back end, we actually had to push them to do things and even had to drive back to their offices to collect paperwork, as it happens we pulled out in the end due to a move from Italy. It would have taken six months from making an offer to finally moving so it does take time.
Good Luck
