BBC3 has disappeared??

Aah well, the BBC will have to catch me first!!!
And thank you Duffer... we now have BBC3 again, and on a separate channel all it's own. The bad news is that we are now picking up over 1,000 channels, of which probably 990 are rubbish!!!

A UK resident is required to pay the TV licence however anyone in Europe can access the BBC with suitable equipment because the BBC signal is free to air and of course they are not required to pay the licence.
For example, using a VPN or something like Expat Shield, it is perfectly legal to watch the BBC iPlayer, but watching the iPlayer itself outside the UK is against the terms and conditions. So you'd be breaking a contract only. So you don't need to fear getting buggered in prison.

But Duffer - its free to air, but not free to receive.... Territorial rights mean that you can't receive the BBC in Italy. Same as football on RAI can't be shown if it can be seen outside the Italian borders or some such. Many moons ago when I used to get paid by the BBC it was all about territorial rights - and as far as I know it still is.... or have I remained in an analogue parallel universe?

So are you saying that I should be scared of dropping the soap in prison?
Just like the Olympic tickets, as a member of the EU, you have the right to purchase tickets from let's say, France or Holland, i.e. freedom of trade and movement, blah blah, etc. so the same law applies to TV shouldn't it? So if someone wanted to watch the TV of another EU nation they are legally entitled to do so. Obviously like you correctly pointed out, there are some issues with the rights. I believe RAI actually black out football matches on satellite as they are aware that viewers all over Europe are able to view these however they leave all the other programmes available. Mind you, the BBC are selling a lot more of their content overseas than Italian broadcasters.

I can't remember all the details but I think it was something like that.

Lorna - that was that RAI had acted illegally in blacking itself out on Sky, and only being available by Tivusat.

I had a similar problem the other day with BBC3 and CBBC, they weren't available on the EPG so I unplugged the power, left for 30 secs, then plugged it back in and they reappeared. Currently the BBC channels are moving frequencies so it's nothing to worry about, just need to re-tune or scan for channels to resolve the issue.

Twinkle and Duffer, please, I need your help: my BBC3 has disappeared again, but to switch everything off is not helping, not at all!
I tried to retuned, but or it was useless or I failed to do it the right way!
BBC3 is my favorite channel! Can you, please, help me ASAP?

Did you actually unplug the power (or switch it off from the mains) and leave it at least 30 seconds before plugging it back in? Maybe try leaving it unplugged for a couple of minutes and probably best to try it when BBC3 should actually be transmitting, i.e. in the evening.
I'm using a Sky digibox which doesn't require re-tuning however if you have a generic decoder, then a retune of channels would be required.
So are you watching Cuckoo and Wilfred?

dear duffer I did as you suggested, because I every night switch the power of to save energy, so if your suggestion could be effective it had to be earlier.
anyway I have general decoder and I tried to re-tuning it , but, maybe I could have failed to do it!
is there any informations I need to do the re-tuning the right way?
I love watching the Doctor Who end now Merlin, but I weren't able to watch any episode of DW, on BBC1 for my working shifts, so I'm hoping to watch them on BBC3, now and then.
please: help me!

So if you don't have a Sky or Freesat decoder, you'll need to manually tune the channels, these are the parametres to use, you might not need all the info depending on your decoder -
