Anyone in North Italy

Re: Anyone in North Italy
I'm always curious to know how people have got on after asking a few questions on here or posting a few things. It would be nice to know how many people have got exactly what they wanted.

Re: Anyone in North Italy
Hi, well since you are curious as how people are getting on, we have been living here for the last year on Lake Como and love it. Kids have settled in really well and have made lots of friends. Their italian is great, and often correct mine! Husband still only has a handful of words (and thats after 3 years living in this country!) Lessons in the New Year I think.
Freezing at the moment and lots of snow on the mountains!
Anyway, hope you are all doing well where you are, take care and have a good Christmas.

Re: Anyone in North Italy
Buongionro to all. Have only just stumbled upon this forum. Too late now as I'm moving to Spain in january. Am Italian but lived first 18 years around the world in International schools (thus am bilingual) and have been in Vicenza ever since (22years). I however do not feel italian (allthough am proud to be) and time has come to move out. Am a clothing deisgner and have my own label and work online so manage to move without too many problems (knock on wood). Moving 2 kids and the wife over to Girona for at least 3years. Hopefully be permanent.
North (east) Italy is probably the most densly populated spot in western europe; traffic ridden, stressed out, biggotted, small minded, vatican - kissing (along with Sicilia), I am truly relieved to move on to a 'normal' country.
If I had lived in central Italy maybe my views would have been different (I don't think so), but the truth is I have grown to despise this country and maybe a few years away will do me some good. I'll either find a new country to call home or may come back with a more peaceful soul.
Will still check back now that I have found it and wish you all luck with your individual lives here in 'Il Bel Paese' (far from it)
